About ahref.com
ahref.com is a "community space for web developers," a site devoted to the professional needs of the web development community. Our goal is to provide the information, interaction, and insight that developers need to stay ahead in a fast-moving field. To do this, we've developed several core features:
Web Index
The index offers a browsable and searchable directory of the best web development resources on the 'Net. The index is frequently updated and allows community members to view resources for beginners, top picks, and new additions. Members can add to the index by emailing info@ahref.com or by using our site submission form.
Guides
Guides are collections of resources in a topic area, such as database development or site marketing. Each topic guide might feature several articles, selected links from the index, and top books from the bookstore. Interactive tools, scripts, or demos are sometimes also included. Guides are divided into four main subject areas: Design, Technology, Industry, and Culture.
Tools
The tools section features a bookstore and news about software and equipment.
Careers
The careers section offers resources to help with professional development, including a conference calendar.
Talk
The talk section features threaded discussion on a variety of topics. Join an ongoing conversation or start a new one.
What Do You Want?
What's on your mind? Is there a web tool you've always dreamed of? A pundit you want to talk to? We call ourselves a "community" (not a publication) because we're committed to building a site that meets developers' needs. And for that, we need your help.
We've started out with some useful stuff, such as an index to development sites and a bookstore, and we're working on new features that will make it easier for you to participate. But don't wait around--get involved now. Be a book reviewer. Submit an article. Participate in our forums.
ahref.com is for all of us, by all of us. What do you want it to be?
